Nigeria’s former president, Muhammadu Buhari, has died in London Hospital on Sunday.
The news of his passing was confirmed on Sunday, the statements reads:
“President Buhari died today in London at about 4:30 p.m. (1530 GMT), following a prolonged illness,” President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson said in a statement.
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023, left an indelible mark on the nation’s political and military landscape.
